Tom Perriello

An attorney, diplomat, and former Member of the House of Representatives serving Virginia’s 5th District, as well as serving as President and CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Tom Perriello is the Progressive voice we need to lead in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Progressive Credentials:

  • Fought for Justice abroad as a Special Adviser to the Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone. His work helped rid the country of brutal Liberian Dictator Charles Taylor.
  • Fought for issues ranging from Veterans Affairs, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Clean Energy, and College Tuition tax credits as a member of the House of Representatives.
  • Worked to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of State Department programs as the lead on the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review.

Why we like him: A great progressive leader that takes on big challenges around the world. A proven track record of fighting corruption and expanding economic fairness.

Candidate Quote: “This is a fight to reclaim the politics and policies of our state for the people and the problem-solvers. You and I can fight together — and if we stand strong by our values and refuse to back down, I believe we can win.”
