“I am dedicated to leading by example and making a difference in our world.”
As a candidate for the Missouri’s 94th State House District, Deb Lavender is running a campaign that is based on bold and progressive ideas. She is committed to increasing transparency in government, providing equal access to health care and ensuring a quality education for all of our children. 21st Century Democrats is pleased to be working with Deb as she takes this step as a first-time candidate.Deb understands the problems facing our health care system because she has experienced them not only as a patient, but also as a health care provider. For more than 10 years, Deb has run her own businesses in St. Louis, most recently as the owner and operator of Des Peres Physical Therapy clinic. She strives to provide top-notch care to her clients, which she confesses can be hard at times because of the broken health care insurance system. As a business owner and as a health care provider, Deb is painfully aware of increasing cost of out of pocket co-pays and the growing number of people being denied services. Deb is determined to make health care more affordable and accessible to all Americans, and 21st Century Democrats is excited to help her in this pursuit.
While this is Deb’s first run for public office, she is no stranger to local activism. Deb has been involved with the Kirkwood Area Chamber of Commerce and North Kirkwood Middle School for several years. As a single parent, Deb understands need for a high quality public education system. She values our children and will fight on their behalf in Jefferson City.
As a testament to her character and commitment to community, Deb implemented a program called Hugs and Kisses after the tragedy of September 11, 2001. Through this program, Deb collected over 6,300 holiday cards from the citizens of St. Louis and traveled to New York to distribute them to those working at Ground Zero.
21st Century Democrats is proud to be working with Deb because we know that she will run a campaign focused on the issues that are important to the people in her district and throughout the state of Missouri. Deb is a strong candidate, but she will need all our help to unseat Republican Rick Steam. We hope that you will join us in supporting Deb Lavender and we look forward to her election in November.
