Nina Turner has deep, working-class roots in Cleveland’s Lee-Harvard community taking her first job at the age of 14 to combat the effect that wealth inequality had on her family. Not only does she have firsthand experience with America’s broken economy, she has also witnessed the shortcomings of our country’s healthcare system after her mother passed away at just 42 in a battle with high blood pressure. These experiences have shaped Rep. Turner, as both the first African American female to serve on the Ohio City Council and as Ohio state senator, she has proven her support for Ohio’s workers time and time again and she will continue to do so in the United States’ Congress.

Why We Like Nina:
Nina Turner has shown strong support for America’s workers which is best articulated by her quote:
“We want our WHOLE DAM DOLLAR!”
Rep. Turner strongly supports Union expansion and their right to collectively bargain for better conditions and fair pay. Her strong stance has earned her endorsements from many of Ohio’s labor unions. She also has shown a commitment to providing fair wages to all Americans, backing a living wage adjusted for inflation throughout her campaign. Nina Turner will go to Washington and show Ohio’s workers that the Democratic party has their back and is willing to fight for an economy that works for ALL Americans.
